Population: 50 (Foley 2016). Ethnic population: 350 (2000 census).
Location:: East Sepik province: near Chambri, Arafundi and middle Karawari rivers.
Language Status: 6b (Threatened).
Classification: Ramu-Lower Sepik, Lower Sepik, Karawari
Language Use: Some young people, all adults. Also use Tok Pisin [tpi]. Young women grow up speaking Yimas and Tok Pisin, but young men are shifting to Tok Pisin (Foley 2004).
Language Development: Literacy rate in L1: Below 5%. Literacy rate in L2: 15%–25%. Grammar.
