Location:: Mizoram state: mainly Aizawl district, scattered in Chhimtuipui and Lunglei districts; Manipur and Tripura states; a few in Jampui hills.
Language Status: 8a (Moribund).
Classification: Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Kuki-Chin, Peripheral, Northern
Dialects: None known. Related to Tedim Chin [ctd], Paite Chin [pck], Thado Chin [tcz], and Zo [zom].
Typology: SOV.
Language Use: Shifted to Mizo [lus].
Language Development: Though literacy is high, formal education level is low (in Tripura).
Other Comments: A subgroup of the Mizo [lus]. Spoken only in northern Mizoram villages (Singh 1995b). Christian.
