Population: 2,000 (2010 SIL). Total Mixtec speakers: 527,000 (2020 INEGI). 60 monolinguals.
Location:: Oaxaca state.
Language Status: 6b (Threatened).
Classification: Otomanguean, Eastern Otomanguean, Amuzgo-Mixtecan, Mixtecan, Mixtec
Dialects: None known. 70% intelligibility of San Miguel el Grande [mig]. San Mateo Sindihui [xts] has 19% intelligibility of Yosondúa.
Language Use: There are only two ranch areas where the language is still spoken and where children may be learning it (2010 SIL). Some young people, all adults.
