None known. An archaic Romance language, often confused with Istro Romanian [ruo]. Perhaps more similar to Friulian [fur] or Dalmatian than to Istro Romanian.
Some young people, all adults. Young speakers in Bale and middle-aged speakers in Galižana; elsewhere speakers are elderly (Salminen 2007).
