Dialects: None known. Very limited intelligibility of other Huave, although most similar to San Dionisio [hve].
Typology: Nontonal.
Language Use: Children do not grow up speaking Huave. But when they become adults they all learn it in order to function in the culture (2011 J. Williams). Adults only, and some semi-fluent children as L2 speakers. Shifting to Spanish [spa].
