Population: 120 (Pereira 2009), decreasing. Any monolingual speakers are above 40 years of age (Pereira 2009). Ethnic population: 120 (Pereira 2009).
Location:: Pará state: Xingu River, Kwatinemu village.
Language Status: 6b (Threatened).
Classification: Tupian, Tupí-Guaraní, Kayabí
Dialects: None known. Different from Tocantins Asurini (Akwaya) [asu], and Arawete [awt].
Typology: 16 consonants and 11 vowels, including 5 nasal vowels.
Language Use: Some young people, all adults. Many also use Portuguese [por], especially those under 40 (Crevels 2007).
