- Middle Egypt Arabic, Upper Egypt Arabic. Most similar to Hijazi Spoken Arabic [acw]. Reportedly also similar to Sudanese Spoken Arabic [apd], especially in the south, but heavily influenced by Cairene Arabic (Cairo speech). A member of macrolanguage Arabic [ara].

- Also use Egyptian Spoken Arabic [arz], particularly Cairene dialect, some speakers as L2. Also use Sudanese Spoken Arabic [apd], but do not prefer it. Used as L2 by Mattokki [xnz], Nobiin [fia].
